Immaculate Heart Girls School Nyakibale in Rukungiri Municipality has concluded its annual Immaculate Heart Pageantry Day, crowning winners across 14 categories during a colourful ceremony held at the school playground.
Senior Four student Lina Abimanya was crowned Miss Immac, the highest title of the event, which attracted participants from all classes showcasing talent, confidence and creativity.
Other winners included Senior Three student Gloria Agaba, who was named Miss Teen, and Patricia Ntenyingi, who won Miss Ambitious.
In Senior Five, Ammaar Nowamani Precious was crowned Miss Drama, Denise Ayebare Miss Environment, Mary Asimwa Miss Peace, Cynthia Abimanya Miss Talent, and Promise Nakyanzi Miss Photogenic.
Senior Six student Maria Igabire Jolly won Heritage Queen, while Monic Kabanangi was named Miss Health.
In Senior One, Elizabeth Kukundakwe was crowned Miss Congeniality and Jasinta Gumanawe Little Miss Immac.
Senior Two student Agnes Ahura won Miss Faith, while Senior Three student Prima Akatwasa was crowned Melanin Queen.
Headteacher Sabina Tumusiime said the pageantry helps learners discover their talents, build leadership skills and prepare for wider opportunities beyond school competitions.
“I urge students to resume studies with determination and strive for academic excellence. To the new queens, be role models in school and the community. Other students should respect and support their fellows,” Tumusiime said.
Guest of honour Vastine Kenganzi, a Rukungiri Municipality Physical Planner and alumna of the school, encouraged students to remain confident, noting that participation alone was a valuable achievement.
“Students carry the school’s name with courage and pride. Communities are shaped by people who impact them positively,” she said.
Centenary Bank Rukungiri Branch Manager Brian Kasaija urged students to focus on their studies and support one another, while also commending the school for its continued partnership with the bank.
He pledged continued support for school activities that promote student development and leadership growth.
